UnSun Cosmetics

Katonya Breaux founded Unsun Cosmetics in 2016 after much frustration by the lack of options within the world of clean sunscreen products for women of color. So, she set out to create clean, inclusive, no-residue options that are kind to the person using it as well as the environment it’s being used in.

Nola Skinsentials

While there is not much about the company on their website, they state they create inclusive skincare for all body types and concerns.

Ekhambee

From the founder:

Skin issues can be a bummer, especially when skin problems like white dots on face, neck discoloration, and dry dark patches on skin, and clogged armpit pores make an unwelcome appearance.

My goal is to help black women and women of color feel confident in their skin without worrying about harmful chemicals.

Kaike

Pronounced “cake”, this brand promises to cater to melanin-rich skin.

The founder, Dana, went through a life-changing journey that was the start of creating a skincare brand. Read her journey here.

Hyper!

From the founder, Desiree:

I’ve had acne and dark spots since I was a teenager— I’m by far my toughest customer. After loving skincare but being left out of the club, I created the brand that we deserve. One that is rooted in realness — it’s really multicultural, centering real skin and realistic standards, and our hardworking formulas deliver real results. Hyper Skin is setting new standards for modern clinical skincare.

The bar has been raised.
The hype is real!

Sonshine Bath

From the founder, Tuanieha Twanna:

Sonshine Bath was started in 2016 in the kitchen of my 2 bedroom apartment after I hit a wall when trying to find a solution for my son’s baby acne. The only thing that his pediatricians could recommend at his age was topical steroids which did not sit right with me. I got rid of every store bought baby product we owned and began researching natural replacements / ways to make my own.
